Cat Berge is currently engaged in several academic projects. As a guest professor at Ghent University, Unit of Epidemiology, Department of Reproduction, Obstretics & Population Health, she keeps up to date with the recent work in research. Dr Berge is currently assisting AMCRA, the one-year old Belgian center of expertise for antimicrobial consumption and resistance, to develop guidelines for antimicrobial use in bovine animal production. Furthermore, she is working on 2 papers for publication, one on sub-clinical ketosis in dairy cattle, and the other one evaluating relatonship between specific antimicrobial use and resistance. Dr Berge has been on several reading committees for PhD defenses and she is assiting graduate students in their projects regarding zoonotic enteric bacteria and antimicrobial use.
I am a veterinarian, animal and nature lover and a cyclist and hiker. I love what I do, and do what I love.
